SEMA 2021 is over but we are already excited about SEMA 2022!!
Scorpion Protective Coatings Canada joined Scorpion USA and Scorpion Quebec for a great week in Las Vegas and needless to say we were surprised at how busy the show was!
People are ready to get out and do something and SEMA was the excuse they needed! Many famous personalities were there but most importantly YOU the car buff, the body shop owner, the detail shop employee and everyone else in the automotive aftermarket were there and it was great!

Wednesday Nov 10 we started coating the showroom floor. We chose Domino as this is the most popular color blend we sell, so why not use it? We had a few trainees help us out and our thanks go out to Brad Leblanc of Champion Coatings as one of the trainers.
They even got a picture of Terry working away on a grinder! Not a sight you see often.
Grinding, gray epoxy base coat and a full broadcast of Domino decorative chips with the polyaspartic clear coat as the finishing touch. The floor turned out beautiful!

For those of you who don't already know, we have fresh stock of Scorpion XO2 in our warehouse. We have the 2-gallon kits and the 45-gallon kits and they are going out fast.
Also, we have had great reviews on the new XO2 formulation and there is only one thing that has changed: how long you mix the product for.
Once you have poured your B, C and tint components into the A jug, you should mix for ONLY 30 seconds maximum. If you mix longer than 30 seconds, the batch will start to thicken up.
What's in Your Toolbox?
Powercoat carries two different brands of drill mixers and both work very well for mixing every type of multi-component coating. The two brands are Jiffy Mixers and Allway Turbine Mixers.
Jiffy Mixer
- All-purpose, heavy-duty, extremely efficient industrial/commercial mixer.
- Designed to quickly and thoroughly mix dense and viscous substances in an open container.
- Eliminates waste and unwanted aeration of materials.
- Cuts mixing time up to 90%.
- Equally effective with liquids, dry materials, liquid and dry materials combined, or multiple component materials.

It has two sets of specially welded blades:
- Vertical blades keep the mixing action contained.
- Horizontal blades use a hydraulic-flow principle to prevent air from being sucked in.
- Scrapes the bottom of the mixing container to bring all settled material particles into the mix.

- No splashing - submerge before starting and shut off before removing.
- Prevents air from being drawn in.
- Fast mixing – cuts time up to 90%.
- Puncture-proof design prevents damage to mixing containers.
- Easy cleanup - just rotate in appropriate thinner or solvent.

- Fastest mixer of its kind – patented.
- Easy to clean, just wipe after use.
- Reaches corners and bottom of the container.
- Plastic vanes will not damage the container.
- Hexagon shaft for secure connection to drill.
